Why Does an Escort Agency Ask for My Details?

Table of contents

Screening, Discretion and Your Data

A reputable escort agency asks for a name, a way to reach you, the date, the hotel and the time you have in mind — because without those five things no rendezvous can be coordinated and no companion can be kept safe. For a hotel visit, nothing more is required. What the agency learns in the process is governed by the GDPR, and sits in its most heavily protected category of data.

The unease most people feel at first contact rests on an apparent contradiction: discretion is what they want, and the first thing they are asked for is their name. The contradiction dissolves on inspection. Someone who does not wish to be known has to be known precisely, for one evening, by one person — and then has a right to be forgotten. This article sets out what is asked and why, who sees it, how long it is kept and what remains in your own hands. By Ivana · as of November 2026.

  • An inquiry for a hotel visit needs a name, a means of contact, a date, a time frame and the hotel; Ivana Models requires a copy of an identity card only for visits to a private home.
  • The companion receives only what coordinating the meeting requires — nothing goes to uninvolved third parties, and nothing leaves the EU.
  • The fact of an inquiry to an escort agency concerns a person’s sex life and therefore falls under Article 9 GDPR, the special categories of personal data.
  • After a matter is closed, data is blocked and then deleted once statutory retention periods expire; access and erasure can be requested at any time, free of charge, with an answer due within a month.
  • Since January 2025, German nationals no longer complete a registration form at hotels; foreign guests still do.

Why does an escort agency ask for personal details at all?

An agency asks because it brings together two people who have never met and has to answer for both of them. A lady who walks into an unfamiliar hotel room on a given evening has every reason to want someone to know whom she is meeting there. The client wants the same assurance in the opposite direction — that the person behind the profile is real, and personally known to the agency — and he gets it for exactly the same reason: because someone checks.

The trade has its own word for this. Screening, also called verification, is the plausibility check an inquiry passes through before an introduction is made. Independent companions often conduct it themselves, through references, proof of professional identity or a preliminary call; an agency takes that step over and places it with a back-office that knows every inquiry it has handled. What that involves on the agency’s side is the subject of a separate piece on the safety measures escort agencies use. This one is about the other side of the desk — what is asked of you.

One thing is rarely said out loud. The mere fact that a person has inquired with an escort agency is information about his sex life — and under Article 9 of the GDPR that places it among the special categories of personal data, alongside health records and religious belief. Processing is prohibited in principle and permitted only under narrow exceptions. An agency that receives such details therefore carries a heavier duty of care than a hotel or an airline does. Far from being a disadvantage to the client, this is why a reputable agency affords him more protection than almost anywhere else he leaves his name.

What is usually asked at first contact — and what is not?

Five things are usual: a name you can be addressed by, a telephone number or e-mail address for replies, the day, the time frame and the place. Everything else is voluntary. On the Ivana Models inquiry form, first name, surname and telephone number are expressly marked optional; what is required is an e-mail address so that an answer can be sent at all, together with the date, time, duration and city and whether the meeting is to take place at a hotel or a private address. For a hotel visit the name of the hotel is added, while the room number and meeting point may be left blank.

The table shows what each detail is for and where it goes.

What a reputable agency never asks for

For a hotel visit, a reputable agency does not ask for a copy of your passport, for your employer, income or marital status, and it does not request card details in a chat window. Nor does it ask you for a photograph of yourself. The reverse holds too: a counterpart that wants to know nothing at all before a hotel visit — no name, no number to call back — has no interest in the companion’s safety and, in all likelihood, no companion. A request for data that goes beyond the table above is among the red flags by which an untrustworthy operation gives itself away.

Do I have to show ID?

For a meeting at a hotel, no. For a visit to your home, yes. At Ivana Models a copy of an identity card, together with a payment confirmed in advance, is required only when the lady is to come to a private address. The reasoning is plain. A hotel is a semi-public place with a reception desk, cameras in the lobby and a registration somebody else has already completed. A private flat is none of those things: the companion enters a room nobody but the two of you knows about, and the identity card stands in for the front desk that is not there. Depending on the lady, further verification may be requested for home visits; its nature and extent are at her discretion and are agreed beforehand.

Anyone who finds the ID copy uncomfortable has an obvious alternative — a good hotel in his own city. The details then shrink to what the reception already holds.

What happens to my data after the inquiry?

Your details are read, checked, used to coordinate the meeting and, where necessary, passed to the one companion you are going to meet. At Ivana Models that is the whole chain. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — steps taken towards an agreement you yourself have requested. No data is transferred to countries outside the European Union, and there is no automated decision-making and no profiling. Every inquiry is read by a person.

The GDPR’s principles of purpose limitation, data minimisation, storage limitation and confidentiality dictate how that handling has to look. In everyday terms: the details you give to arrange a meeting are not then used to send you a newsletter; nothing is collected beyond what coordination needs; and the agency must be able to demonstrate that it keeps to this. The binding account of what Ivana Models collects, who receives it and how long it stays is in the privacy notice — a document worth reading before one accepts it anywhere.

One question recurs in inquiries: does the lady learn everything I tell the agency? She does not. She receives the name under which she can ask for you at reception, the time and place, any wishes you have expressed for the evening, and contact details only as far as the meeting itself requires them. Payment, where an arrangement is reached, is settled between you and the companion; payment details do not pass through the agency. The inquiry information sets out the particulars.

How long is my data kept — and can I have it deleted?

Once a matter is closed, data that has to be retained for legal reasons is blocked and deleted when the relevant period runs out; everything else is deleted. The periods are set by statute rather than by the agency: Germany’s Fiscal Code requires business records to be kept for between two and ten years, and the ordinary civil limitation period is three years. Blocked means the data is no longer available for any further use — it is held in case an authority asks, and for nothing else.

Independently of that, you hold rights no company can take from you. Under Article 15 GDPR you may ask what data is held about you, for what purpose, who has received it and how long it will be stored — free of charge, with an answer due within one month. Under Article 17 you may ask for erasure, save where a statutory retention duty stands in the way. An informal e-mail to the address given in the privacy notice is enough; the supervisory authority responsible for Ivana Models is the data protection commissioner of North Rhine-Westphalia.

How discreet is a rendezvous at a hotel?

More discreet than it was two years ago, at least for guests with a German passport. Since 1 January 2025 the Fourth Bureaucracy Relief Act has abolished the hotel registration requirement for German nationals; the hand-signed form hotels had to keep for twelve months is gone. Foreign guests still complete it and show a passport. For the companion none of this changes anything: she enters the building as a visitor, not a guest, and is registered nowhere.

What matters in practice is less the form than the name. The lady asks at reception for the name the room is booked under — which is why the inquiry form asks for your name “as registered at the hotel”. If it differs, she is standing at a front desk with a name it does not recognise. How an evening at a hotel runs without friction, from the meeting point in the lobby to the question of the room number, is covered on the hotel escorts page and in the piece on checking into a hotel with a companion.

Which data should I protect myself?

The largest gaps seldom open at the agency; they open on your own device and on the way to it. Three habits close most of them.

  • One channel, not four. An inquiry begun by telephone, continued by e-mail and concluded on a messenger leaves the same matter in three places. Telegram, e-mail or the telephone — any one of them will do, and one is easier to close afterwards.
  • Do not send original files. Photographs carry information that is never displayed, including, in some cases, where they were taken. What an image file reveals and how to switch it off is explained in our piece on artificial intelligence and the escort industry.
  • ID and payment details only where someone stands behind them by name. Europol’s Internet Organised Crime Threat Assessment 2026 records that stolen personal data is resold and reused, and that generative AI makes fraudulent approaches more personal and more convincing. A scan of your passport sent to an anonymous number is not verification; it is exposure. Check the legal notice, the privacy notice and who answers for the profile photographs — at Ivana Models the page on authentic images describes how the pictures are made.

How does Ivana Models handle inquiries?

Every inquiry is read and answered by a person. The back-office can be reached Monday to Friday from 09:00 to midnight and on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to midnight — by telephone, e-mail, the inquiry form or Telegram. The details you give serve the coordination of the rendezvous alone and reach the one lady you wish to meet, to the extent the meeting requires. As a placement agency, Ivana Models works exclusively with independent, self-employed escort models; any arrangement is made between you and the companion, the agency coordinates it, and until it is confirmed the agency remains your only point of contact.

In this field confidentiality is not an extra but the product itself — and it begins not with a promise to know nothing, but with an undertaking to know only what is necessary and then to forget it. Anyone who has understood why an agency asks for a name makes the next inquiry with a different kind of ease. More explainers of this sort are collected in our escort wiki; to arrange a rendezvous, a short inquiry is enough and we coordinate the rest.

Frequently asked questions

Why does an escort agency want my real name?

Because the companion asks at reception for the name the room is booked under, and because somebody has to know whom she is meeting. A name that matches the hotel registration is all that is needed. Questions about your employer, income or marital status have no place in a reputable inquiry.

Do I have to send an escort agency a copy of my ID?

Not for a hotel visit. At Ivana Models a copy of an identity card, together with a payment confirmed in advance, is required only for visits to a private home, because a private address has no reception and no registration. Anyone who would rather avoid it chooses a hotel; the details then reduce to what the front desk already holds.

Does the companion learn everything I tell the agency?

No. She receives the name to ask for at reception, the time and place of the meeting, any wishes you have expressed for the evening, and contact details only to the extent the meeting requires. Ivana Models passes nothing to uninvolved third parties, and no data is transferred outside the European Union.

How long does Ivana Models keep my data?

Once a matter is closed, data that must be retained for legal reasons is blocked and deleted when the statutory period expires; all other data is deleted. The periods derive from Germany’s Fiscal Code and the civil limitation rules, not from the agency. You can request access to your data, or its erasure, by e-mail at any time.

Can I make an escort inquiry anonymously?

A first inquiry, yes: on the inquiry form, name and telephone number are optional and only an e-mail address is required. For the meeting itself the companion needs a name that matches the hotel registration and a way of reaching you at short notice. Complete anonymity up to the moment of meeting is something no reputable agency offers.

Will Ivana Models appear on my card statement?

No. Where an arrangement is reached, payment is settled between you and the companion; payment details do not pass through the agency, which only arranges the introduction. Which methods come into question in a given case is agreed during coordination and described in the inquiry information.

What is the most discreet way to reach Ivana Models?

Through a single channel of your choosing: Telegram, e-mail, telephone or the inquiry form. The back-office is reachable Monday to Friday from 09:00 to midnight and on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to midnight; every inquiry is read and answered by a person. As a placement agency, Ivana Models works exclusively with independent, self-employed escort models.
